Types of Pick and Place Machines

Pick and place machines can be categorized based on their operational mechanism into two main types: moving arm arch type and turret type.

In terms of automation levels, these machines are classified into three categories: semi-automatic manual type, semi-automatic type, and fully automatic SMT machines.

When considering functionality and speed, pick and place machines can be divided into high-precision multifunctional SMT machines (also known as universal machines, designed primarily for high-precision tasks involving narrow pitch, large size, and irregular components) and high-speed pick and place machines (which focus on handling small components).

Additionally, based on the arrangement of the SMT machine feeder and the number of pick and place heads, these machines can be classified as large, medium, small, or modular machines.
